Learners' Perception of Good Clinical Nursing Educator

Abstract
Purpose: The aim of this qualitative study was to understand and describe what nursing students experienced in the process of finding their job.

Methods: Sixteen students from one baccalaureate nursing program participated in this study. In June 2019, two focus groups with a total 16 nursing students from one baccalaureate nursing program were interviewed using semi-structured research questions. Collected data were analyzed using conventional content analysis.

Results: The following three major themes were found: creating an environment suitable for practice, applying methods to enable learning, find role models to be followed.

Conclusion: On the basis of this result, we can understand nursing students¡¯ perception of good characteristics of clinical nursing educators. In order to cultivate competent nurses through high-quality clinical education, we will propose a study design for clinical practice that considers characteristics of effective clinical nursing educators and verify its effectiveness in the future.
